(hmmmm......should I give my secrets away?...............well, as you are so kind with your comments I shall reveal my secrets!!!)
A few miles from me, there is a wolf sanctuary, and I paid them a small fortune (I dont mind though, as the money goes straight back into the upkeep and conservation of wolves) to spend the day there taking pictures of their lovely wolves. (and it rained!!!) The wolves are not domesticated, and still have a typical pack hieracy (i think thats how you spell it!) the enclosures that they have are huge. An amazing place, with very dedicated, caring and knowledgable people running it.
Time to save up for ages again, so I can go back!
I hope i havent spoiled the illusions of the pictures too much!
Aha... you are clever then ^_^ and very dedicated to your wolves. Good luck in your wolf-photo-shoots! I really like wolves too, unfortunately there are no wolves in Hawaii lol.

Ah.... You are very lucky to have something like that around. There is a big cat sanctuary here in FL that I really must attend. I think that if you pay 100$, they will actually even try to get the tigers, lions, etc. to pose for you. One of these days...
And, by the way, the fact that the photos were taken at a wolf sanctuary doesn't detract from their beauty at all. In fact, it almost makes them better...

Oh wow! That would be awesome! I would definately get saving Circe!.....
I visited Florida a few years back (sorry, did the usual touristy things......) and I really wanted to visit the everglades to take some croc shots.......little cheaper than 90 dollars (I think...) Crocs are awesome creatues too........
Well, I've been meaning to do the Big Cat rescue thing, it's just a matter of finding the time to do it. It's a couple of hours from here, and they say to save a whole day for it. That, and I'd like to get a new camera before I go, too.
The Everglades are great, but there aren't so many crocs down there are there are alligators! Although there is an American crocodile that is in the Everglades, too. Really, if you wanted alligator shots, you could have gone just about anywhere in Florida. Around Gainesville is a literal alligator haven... I can't think of a lake/river that isn't loaded with them. But for precisely this reason, if you ever come back to FL, don't ever go swimming in one of our lakes or rivers!

Well I got my new(ish) DSLR in November, and never regretted a penny of it! Its only a humble 300D, but I love the versatility of the lenses.......had to save up for a couple of years though! (why does this hobby have to be so expensive!!! lol )
Re the alligators.....I always get those mixed up! ......
I hope you manage to get to the big cats soon, I'd love to see the results!
I've wondered why photography has to be so expensive myself... I'm glad that you like the 300D. You get amazing shots with it (although I suspect it has more to do with the eye of the photographer than the camera!). I've been trying to decide if I want to go with the 300D or the EOS20D. The 20D is slightly more expensive, and doesn't come with a lens. But I'd need to get a telephoto and a macro lens for the 300D, too... Decisions, decisions...

For pro photography, I would definately get the most expensive one you can (20D in your list) as it has more features. However, if money is a deciding factor dont go for the 300D, but go for the new 350D! Same pixel count as the20D (I think), and you can pick them up for a superb price!
I had the same problem as you when I was choosing, money was an option, so I had to decide between the 300D and the Nikon D70, I felt the Nikon was a slightly (very slightly) better camera (build quality was far superior) but canon were offering a free card, and 100pounds money back at the time......it won me over!
