Oh, she/he is beautiful! Of all your wolf pics, I think this one's my favorite.

Nice shot Ben,
I really like the diagonal of the shot. It creates some really strong movement in the image. To get this shot, were you panning with the wolf? I see a bit of motion blur in the sky in the back ground or is that from the depth of field?

Nice shot

Oh forgot to mention,
I dont mean to be nit-picky but the wolf being black is really awesome, but with the sky being so white and so close to the wolf, yes it brings out the contrast but that white speck of sky at the top of the image tends to draw your eyes away from the wolf.
I am thinking a tighter crop or some how darekening that bit of sky would help.

Just my 2cts,

Hi Mate,

Thanks for the comments, and critique, you really have no need to worry about being nit-picky, please feel free to always tell it how it is. :)

I was panning here, so the blurring is a combination of both a shalow DoF by way of the telephoto lense that was used, and the narrow apperture.

Your bang on about the sky, the light conditions were a pain in the arse here! the light was low, and behind the wolf, as such the sky had to blow out in order to get the wolf, especially with him being so dark, I did try a little fill in flash, however, it didnt really help that much, and flattened the wolf a little.
I wouldnt want to crop it any further though, as that I feel would upset the balance of the picture, almost creating a sense of claustophobia, the wide open space is to create a feeling of freedom for the wolf.

Cheers!
Ben
